Shellby House, L.Ac. MAcOM

Originally sprouting from the sunny coastline of Southern California, Shellby is an Acupuncturist & Herbalist practicing Chinese Medicine in Eureka, CA. Here in home sweet Humboldt, Shellby discovered early on that earth based medicine is what truly sparks her passion. After spending many years carving her path as an Herbalist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner in the Pacific Northwest, she is honored to help members of her community to heal and be well.

Shellby earned her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. Her capstone project explored domestic cultivation of Asian medicinal herbs as a solution to diminishing herb populations worldwide & increasing challenges within the global supply chain. Both of these issues directly impact our ability to practice Chinese herbal medicine in the west, and as such, this is a subject she cares deeply about. Shellby completed her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies focused in Traditions of Asia & Dance Studies at Humboldt State University. She has practiced western herbalism for over 10 years, rooted in training from the Northwest School for Botanical Studies in Fieldbrook, CA.

Shellby's treatment approach focuses around listening to the senses and allowing the wisdom of the body to guide the process. She considers Nature to be her wisest teacher & greatest ally in helping harmonize the body, mind, & spirit. She enjoys helping patients find relief from a variety of pain conditions, supporting emotional well-being, and helping patients enhance their overall strength and vitality. She finds the greatest success working collaboratively with patients by combining acupuncture, nutritional therapy, herbal medicine, and simple lifestyle modification.

When Shellby is not in the clinic, she enjoys frolicking and foraging around forested trails, bottom fishing in the salty sea, tending the garden, & dancing with friends in the community.
